We're building a water well in Haiti!

Led by the Rotary Club of Ancaster, the Water for Life Project is impacting the lives of thousands of Haitians living in the Artibonite Valley. Started by Rotarian Roy Sheldrick, Rotary members, churches and the Rotary Foundation have worked together to drill 200 wells and build a pipeline that brings water to 20,000 people.

We have contributed $5000 for one well to supply a village, using funds put aside after the 2010 earthquake as well as other funds raised in 2011.

Rotary Club to donate $75,000 towards new Skate Park

Youth of Uxbridge efforts to get a new, permanent skate park have received a huge boost from the Rotary Club. A total of $75,000, raised in the community, has been set aside to help fund the venture conditional on the overall funding plan. Of a total budget in the region of $400,000, $150,000 has been earmarked in Township of Uxbridge's 2012 budget and a Trillium Grant application will be submitted for $145,000.

The Uxbridge Youth Centre has undertaken to raise a further $75,000 from other fundraising efforts. The 8,000 square feet park designed by Adrian Gaccia is planned for the Kennedy House Fields, where it will be accessible directly from Main Street North. It is expected to attract skateboarders and fans from a wide area of the township.
